Choose a Region From the Statewide View Your search begins with a map of Wisconsin. Find the tinted area of the state where you're interested in searching for properties, and click it.
This will take you to a map that's framed more closely on the area you clicked. |
Using the Regional View
Check the Property Count above the map to find out how many properties are available within the scope of the map you are viewing.
If there are more than 300 (as there typically are at this point), you will need to narrow your search before the map displays the property locations on the map.
There are two ways to narrow your search: By zooming in more closely on the area that interests you; and by choosing property type, year built, acreage, square footage, price or features. |
Narrow Your Search by Area
Drag to zoom: Click on the magnifying glass icon on the upper left corner of the map. When you mouse down over the map, your mouse pointer will turn into a crosshair.
Position the crosshair at one corner of the area you'd like to view more closely. Press and hold the mouse button and drag the crosshair to the opposite corner. A blue rectangle will show the area you are defining.
When you release the mouse button, the map will redraw, zooming in on the area you have defined.
Is your Property Count still above 300? Try zooming in again - or limit your search by property type, price, year built, acreage, square footage or features (below). |
Narrow Your Search by Criteria
The menus above the map can help narrow your search by excluding property types that don't interest you. You can also limit your search to properties in a specific price range, with a minimum number of bedrooms or bathrooms, or with water frontage, square footage, acreage or access. |
Viewing Properties on the Map
When the Property Count falls below 300, listed properties will be represented by icons on the map. Red icons represent active properties, green open houses and yellow new listings (within the past 7 days).
Mouse over any property icon, and a brief summary (with photo, if available) will pop up next to the property.
Click the More Details link to view a full description of the property. A link ("Back to Map") on that page will allow you to return to your current view of the map.
To close the summary, move your mouse away from that listing's icon.
